Iraq

I promise the voters that I will work to end the war in Iraq and to bring our troops home safely and responsibly.

The simple truth is that the best way to bring about an end to the war in Iraq is to keep the Democratic majority in Congress and to elect a Democrat as President this Fall.  Both of the two Democratic candidates have pledged to end the war, while the Republicans seem to think that business as usual is fine for Iraq.  But I know that's not fine with the American people.

The war in Iraq was ill-conceived and planned, and we are still trying to clean up the mess we created.  In the meantime, we're depleting our national treasury and we've made ourselves less safe, rather than more.  We need to work to restore the goodwill and respect we previously enjoyed in the world.
